How to handle delivery payouts that cross month-end

Use transaction-level dates to assign sales, fees, promotions, refunds, and adjustments to the appropriate activity month, while keeping the finalized payout ID intact for bank clearing. The month-end schedule should show the portion earned but not yet deposited and the portion from the prior month included in the current deposit.

Do not split the actual bank transaction into invented deposits. Instead, maintain a subledger that connects monthly activity to the real payout. DoorDash specifically notes that payout periods can straddle months, which is why monthly statements and deposits dated in the month can differ.
